Moore Coffee & Tea : Moore Info : Welcome graphic version

Welcome!
Welcome to Hestia House Virtual Coffeehouse.
There are times when I am tempted to compare being in this business to being in a relationship: it is often frustrating, it involves a lot of work, and I quite often have to sacrifice other things for it. But, at the end of the day, there is nothing else that I would rather be doing. The coffee business has been an adventure for me, an adventure that has led to tea, wine, spices, and who knows where else. This business has always been a labor of love and I am fortunate to be able to make money doing something I really love.

- Gayla Moore, roaster and owner of Moore Coffee & Tea

Welcome, I'm Gayla Moore, proprietor and roaster. When I started this business, I made a commitment to quality, freshness, and consistency. I feel that I have followed through with this commitment by selecting only the highest grade, estate grown 100% Arabicas. When I started to carry teas, I sought out only the finest quality, top grade teas. Before I started to carry herbs and spices, I sought out vendors who shared these same principals. I have cupped some of the best (and worst) coffees in the world, always looking for just the right flavor to bring to my business; I have seen how coffee is grown from region to region; and learned from some of the finest coffee roasters and developers in the world.

Moore Coffee & Tea is a "home roaster": we roast only what we will use in the next 24 to 72 hours. We also roast in small batches, ensuring that every type of coffee that we sell is developed to its highest degree of flavor and potential. I have been doing this now since 1990, and I have always maintained my high standards. Even if that meant having to tell my customers that I was out of stock because I couldn't get the best beans from a given crop. Now, with the help of some fine companies and good friends, I am "expanding" my business onto the Web.

So, stay a while: find out a little more information about the roasting process; learn how to speak the "language of coffee" like a pro; get some practical tips on the best way to store, grind, and brew your coffee; pick up some history on tea and how it has developed into what we drink today; and, always feel free to ask questions. My business has always been guided by my principals of quality, freshness, and consistency; but it is firmly based in customer satisfaction and education. And even if you didn't come here to shop, I will always be happy to answer your questions about coffee, tea, herbs and spices, and wine.

But, if you do find something that interests you, you can always order any of this great coffee and tea online. Thanks for stopping by and come visit us again soon.
