It is more than coffee

Moore Coffee, Tea & Spices

Community & Friends

One of the most powerful aspects of the Internet is that it makes our world an even smaller place. People from around the globe can communicate and share information almost instantly. The Internet can also be a powerful tool for effecting change, both here and around the world. We are all, in some way, connected to each other. Decisions made in one place will ultimately affect everywhere else.

While the coffeehouse was open, Gayla would often donate the space, her time, or her coffee to various charities and community events. “Part of being a member of a community is giving back to and supporting that community,” she explains. “And a business, especially a small business, is just as responsible for giving back to its community.” We would like to use this section of our site to highlight our community, from charities we are involved in to those groups and people around us that help make a difference, no matter how small.

Operation Smile

Operation SmileOperation Smile is the not-for-profit, volunteer medical services organization that provides reconstructive facial surgery to indigent children and young adults in 16 developing countries and in the United States. Based in Norfolk, Va., Operation Smile provides education and training to physicians and other health care professionals to achieve long-term self-sufficiency. Since 1982, Operation Smile has treated 45,000 children here and abroad, with one cleft lip surgery costing approximately $750.

Operation Smile was the recipient of the 1996 $1 million Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize for its efforts to alleviate human suffering. Moore Coffee & Tea has been proud to help with this cause for a little more than a year now. For more information on Operation Smile, contact them at the number above, or visit their website.

Roaster’s Blues

“Roaster’s
Blues”

You
heat me up

And you roast me sublime

Your kind of lovin’, should be a crime

Full bodied, fine ground, smooth to the core

And darlin’, that’s what keeps me comin’ back for more

You got me brewin’ over you

I like your kind of blend

And you got me drinkin’ Moore coffee from mornin’ ’til the day’s sweet end

I wanna take you for a ride, She said

Wontchu take a little sip of my love

No, it’s not just inside your head

I know this one can rise above

Because the way I see it

The sooner I leave

The Moore coffee I drink, the faster I can get to your love

And now I want Moore Coffee

I want Moore Coffee

Gimmee some Moore Coffee

I want Moore

And you got me drinkin’ Moore coffee from mornin’ ’til the day’s sweet end

Deb Ferris Dawn Black
Four ounces for the grinder

A cup for my mug

Nothin’ could be finer, than you wake me up

Deep and dark and roasted oh, so clean

You’ve gotten in my veins, down dirty and mean

Well I confess, it’s true

Nothin’ but your blend will do

And you got me drinkin’ Moore coffee from mornin’ ’til the day’s sweet end

I got ONE … for the grinder

TWO … for my mug

THREE … for my Baby,

Wontcha gimme a slug?

And now I want Moore Coffee

I want Moore Coffee

Gimme some Moore Coffee

Just a little bit Moore Coffee

I want Moore

And you got me drinkin’ Moore coffee from mornin’ ’til the day’s sweet end
